Dr. Timothy B. Skraitz
Dr. Timothy B. Skraitz grew up not far from Peters Township in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. He graduated with honors from Belle Vernon Area High School in 1976. He then continued his education at California University of Pennsylvania and received a Bachelor's of Science degree in education. During his time at California University he was a member of the Phi Kappa Theta National Social Fraternity. After graduation he proceeded to teach at East Allegheny High School for one semester before realizing his true passion in life was not teaching, but rather chiropractic.
Dr. Skraitz went back to California University of Pennsylvania where he completed the necessary science curriculum that enabled him to enroll at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Chiropractic proved to be Dr. Skraitz's forte as he graduated class valedictorian in December 1984. Dr. Skraitz is also a diplomat of American Academy of Pain Management.
Throughout Dr. Skraitz's 26-year chiropractic career he has earned many awards. While still at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Skraitz earned both his Clinical Excellence and Radiology Excellence awards. He has also been recognized in the Who's Who of American Executives. Dr. Skraitz is also a member of the Pi Tau Delta National Chiropractic Honors Fraternity. Dr. Skraitz has furthered his education post chiropractic school by completing numerous seminars dealing with certification in radiographic interpretation (x-ray), videofluroscopy, and chiropractic thermography. He has completed over 15,000 hours in the Pierce adjusting technique.
Most recently Dr. Skraitz has completed his advance certification in Whiplash Associated Disorders from the San Diego Spine Research Institute and the Center for Research into Auto Safety and Health (CRASH) where he participated in and researched live human volunteer crash studies of low speed rear end collisions. In addition, Dr. Skraitz received Manipulation Under Anesthesia certification from Logan College of Chiropractic. Dr. Skraitz is a member of the National Academy of Manipulation Under Anesthesia Physicians, the Spine Research Institute of San Diego, and was the Department Head at Pittsburgh Specialty Hospital Pain Management Center, Chief of Chiropractic Services at the Pittsburgh Specialty Hospital. Dr. Skraitz has hospital privileges at Southwestern Ambulatory Surgery Center.
It is because of Dr. Skraitz's advanced certification in Whiplash injuries and has seen the terrible consequences of car accidents that he formed the Drive to Stay Alive program in April 2007. This program is geared toward high school students and promotes safe, reactive driving skills to avoid collisions and regain control of automobiles.* Dr. Skraitz is also the host of Integrated Healthcare Today, a local television show that airs exclusively in the Peters Township community.
